DUALITY · THE TRUTH IS ONE

Maharishi's latest collection embodies the brand's core pillars of duality and respecting nature while embracing the latest technology. With a focus on sustainability, the collection features eco-conscious and upcycled materials and reflects a harmonious balance between innovation and environmental consciousness.

New artworks of Crow & Heron and Tiger Dragon draw from ancient symbolism to reflect the duality of equally opposing forces. The Tiger Dragon represents the concept of the Yin and Yang. The Tiger, the most powerful earthly being in Taoist symbolism, represents Yin—linked to the earth and night. The Dragon embodies Yang—dynamic, active, and free from earthly constraints; it’s associated with the celestial. Together, they balance opposing forces, showing how each is incomplete without the other, reflecting harmony through contrast. Furthermore, the Crow & Heron design contrasts the crow’s mysterious, transformative energy with the heron’s serene grace and longevity, referencing the opposing interplay between chaos and tranquility.

The collection also features a range of new styles from the Maha Tailor Shop, Maharishi's minimalist design studio which was originally inspired by the tailor shops set up in Vietnam during the war.

This line elevates monochrome styles with asymmetric cuts and customisable detailing, offering a refined approach to modern tailoring. Luxurious fabric choices, such as Australian virgin merino wool and Japanese cotton sateen, add a layer of tactile richness, blending understatement with innovative craftsmanship.

The collection also celebrates the Lunar Year of the Snake with fresh interpretations of the brand's signature DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material).

This year introduces two new patterns—DPM: Bonsai Python and DPM: Bonsai Snakeskin—both of which draw on the symbolism of the snake while reimagining the timeless art of camouflage. DPM's have been a core element of Maharishi's design philosophy since the brand’s launch, evolving through many iterations that re-contextualise camouflage from its militaristic origins into something connected with nature and art. In 2004, Hardy Blechman further cemented DPM's place in fashion and design with the release of the DPM Encyclopaedia, a comprehensive exploration of camouflage and its diverse applications.

The collection is available from 6th February 2025, online and in the London and New York stores.
