Mulmul (or muslin) cotton layers are stitched together by
hand in a manner reminiscent of traditional Kantha work.
Kantha is embroidery applied to old sarees, dhotis and
other garments, popularised and practised in Bengal and is
also used in the making of quilts, known as Nakshi Kantha.
