HAND MACHINED EMBROIDERY
Since 1994, hand-machine embroidery has been a mainstay throughout all Maharishi collections.
Traditionally recognised as a form of decoration, embroidered artworks were commonly found embroidered on Sukajan (souvenir) style jackets. Distinctive embroidery work was carried out by the Japanese for American GIs to bring home after the post-war occupation of Japan as literal souvenirs.
Maharishi has reinterpreted this embroidery in all of its collections using seasonal references and works by guest artists, hand-machine embroidered on utilitarian silhouettes and Maharishi Original Snopants.
