Spring / Summer 2024 · Take Tora
Maharishi presents its latest seasonal artwork honouring the tiger, intertwined with bamboo. Tiger iconography is commonly seen throughout Maharishi collections and is believed in Buddhism to be a spiritual force in confronting life’s challenges; the tiger exemplifies bravery and determination. Yet sheer strength alone cannot overcome all obstacles and in this instance nature takes it course as the artwork depicts bamboo breaking through solid concrete blocks.
The Take Tora artwork appears on core silhouettes such as Original Snopants®, heavyweight organic cotton sweats and camp-collar shirts cut from cupro twill milled in Italy. The same delicate strokes used to depict the bamboo also form the tiger’s stripes, thus the artwork encapsulates not only power, strength, movement and change but also embodies the qualities associated with the bamboo; flexibility, fragility and longevity.
