EVERYTHING IS RECORDED · TEMPORARY
Temporary, the new album by Everything is Recorded - the creative collective spearheaded by Richard Russell - is available now. The album was inspired whilst Russell was working with Jah Wobble at his studio, and was struck by a conversation about spirituality. The word “temporary” lingered in his mind, prompting him to question what remains of our spirit after we depart and why so many artists in his studio were reflecting on such themes. Alongside musical contributions from the likes of Sampha, Bill Callahan, and Infinite, the album features artwork by Maharishi founder Hardy Blechman, who also designed a commemorative MA-1 flight jacket and T-shirt to mark its release.
The artwork was initially inspired by Frederik De Wit’s 17th Century ‘Planisphæri Cœleste’, a map of the stars and constellations from which the zodiac is drawn. It delves into the historic importance of the zodiac, not only for navigation, but also for the spiritual influence of astrology and the connection between human beings and the cosmos. The planets and zodiac signs are believed to influence human behavior through their unique energies and alignments. Each planet represents different aspects of life—such as communication, love, and personal growth—while the zodiac signs offer insight into personality traits and life paths.
Both the album and commemorative capsule are available now online and in the London and New York stores.
